Assistance from the UK
Many UK universities offer financial assistance to International Students who wish to study in the UK but who find it impossible for financial reasons. There is support available to both undergraduates and postgraduates. The funding varies in amount, usually providing funding towards course fees (either covering the whole cost, or a contribution towards the cost) and sometimes a further award to help with living or travel costs. Students wishing to take advantage of these schemes have to apply to the appropriate organisation, college or university in good time. Often there are more applicants than funding, so it is important that the application is of a high standard. Assistance for Undergraduates There are around 270 Scholarships for International Students currently listed by the British Council. They are grouped by College / University and also by subject. The main subject headings are: Agriculture, Architecture, Art & Design, Business, Management & Marketing, Computing, Maths & IT, Education, Engineering, Humanities, Languages, Law, Mba, Media & Communications, Medicine, Dentistry * Health, Performing arts, Pure & Applied Sciences, Social Sciences, Sport, Leisure, Hospitality & Tourism. There as also a list of Scholarships that are not subject related.
