Choosing the best form of transport from home to your UK University will be a major consideration for any International student

There popular options are: by air, by sea, by road, by train.

Which method you choose will probably be determined by the distance you are travelling, the facilities available to you in your home country and the cost.

And don't forget to consider what to bring with you!

Should you travel light and bring the minimum, maybe buying clothing and other necessities when you arrive? Or are you going to have some luggage shipped seperately? There are many options!

Travelling around the UK

The travel infrastructure in the UK is very well-developed.

No matter if you are travelling from London to Manchester or Keele to Hull, there will be many options available to you.

You can travel by car, bus or train to your destination, and sometimes by air. You may even be able to drive yourself!

Bus, train and airline schedules are all available online, by phone and to personal callers at local travel offices.

There are also specialist Travel agents in most towns who can advise and book tickets for you.

Costs will vary enormously depending on the distance you are travelling and the form of travel you choose.
